About Jane Harbottle

JANE HARBOTTLE has been an established self-employed artist since 1987, and now has her own studio and gallery in Lowick Village, in the outstanding Northumberland countryside, not far inland from the scenic Eastern coastline of the area.

JANE spent her early years in Australia, by the sea, where her love of the outdoors and beauty of “Nature” was formed.  She is still intrigued by Australia and certain of those early influences can be seen in her life and work.

JANE prefers to work directly from the natural world, bringing whatever she can into the studio to study and paint.  Otherwise she can be seen out and about with her camera, taking photographs and collecting “bits & pieces” for reference.  The flora and fauna of her current surroundings provide a wealth of inspiration, enabling her to achieve the detail and realism, which are the hallmarks and the beauty of her paintings.

JANE’S teddy bear paintings are inspired by her love of bears and the many “well loved” teddy bears she has in her collection. They also exhibit JANE'S fine attention to detail, and the character of the teddy bear shines out through her paintings.

“I feel there is so much to see when we stop and take the time to really look at what surrounds us.  That, to me, is the true miracle and beauty of “Nature.  I derive great enjoyment and pleasure from my painting and gladly welcome the opportunity to paint your commission or special order.  Please contact me for a friendly chat to discuss your requirements, current prices, and joining the “waiting list”.”
